KING COUNTY 4-H POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

King County 4-H Association Dress Code
The following applies to 4-H members and volunteers at all times they are representing 4-H at any event, including when they are in any 4-H project area at the King County Fair.

• All clothing shall be neat, clean and acceptable in repair and appearance and shall be worn within the bounds of decency and good taste as appropriate for 4-H events.

• Articles of clothing are prohibited which
o display gang symbols or profanity
o display products/slogans promoting alcohol, drugs, violence or sex

o are in other ways distracting or disrespectful
o expose bare midriffs or bare backs (including when arms are outstretched to the side at shoulder height)
       o expose bare chests
       o are transparent (see through)

• Spaghetti straps, halter tops and tube tops are prohibited. Tank tops with straps wider than one inch are permitted

• For males, pants must be waist high with a belt if needed-no sagging pants

• For females, shorts, skirts, skorts and dress length must be at mid thigh
• Shoes/boots must be worn
After a minimum of two adult 4-H representatives have determined noncompliance with this dress code, they will jointly request the person in question to comply within a reasonable amount of time. If compliance is not carried out and maintained, the violator will be required to leave the event. The event coordinator will be notified (at King County Fair this would be the Project Superintendent)

Project/club dress codes may be more restrictive than the above, but not less.
